Day 1:            Arrival at Kigali Int’l Airport

Kigali

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our experienced driver-guide. From there, enjoy a comfortable 20-minute drive to your hotel in Kigali, where you will relax and spend the night.

Day 2: Half-Day Kigali City Tour – Transfer to Volcanoes NP – Visit to the Ellen DeGeneres Campus

Volcanoes National Park

Start your day with a half-day guided city tour of Kigali, Rwanda’s vibrant capital. The tour includes a visit to the Genocide Memorial Museum, a powerful and moving tribute to the victims of the 1994 genocide, and the Belgian Peacekeepers Memorial, commemorating the lives of Belgian UN peacekeepers who lost their lives during the same period.

Following the city tour, enjoy a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park in the northwest of Rwanda, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. On arrival, you’ll visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, a state-of-the-art conservation and education center dedicated to gorilla research and the legacy of Dian Fossey.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Visit thr Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village

Begin your day with an early breakfast before heading to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. Accompanied by an experienced park ranger, embark on a once-in-a-lifetime trek through the lush rainforest in search of a habituated family of endangered mountain gorillas. Once located, you will spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat—a truly unforgettable experience.

After the trek and some time to rest and refresh, visit the nearby Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where you will gain insight into traditional Rwandan culture. Enjoy interactive experiences such as traditional music and dance performances, local cuisine, and storytelling from community members.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking & Departure

After an early breakfast, head back to Volcanoes National Park for an exciting Golden Monkey trekking experience. These rare and playful primates are endemic to the Virunga Mountains and offer a completely different but equally rewarding encounter from the gorilla trek. Spend time observing them in their natural habitat as they leap through the bamboo forests.

Following the trek, return to your lodge to freshen up before beginning your scenic drive back to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight. We hope you leave Rwanda with unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for its wildlife, culture, and people.
